Joe Litterio Bio

An alumnus of Rutgers University and a New Jersey native, Joe Litterio has been involved in college athletics for over three decades.

After his baseball career ended, he started his coaching career at Rutgers University as a volunteer coach.  From there, he has been involved in NCAA athletics ever since. Spending most of his time recruiting some of the best talent across the country.

He has coached in six different conferences, with his last one in the BIG TEN. He has developed the knowledge of what it takes to play at the next level and more importantly, what is needed to get to the next level.

As a coach, academics were a priority in his programs.  At Rutgers his team earned public acknowledgment for Academic Progress Rate (APR) scores. That put Rutgers in the top 10 percent of college baseball in academic achievement regarding eligibility, graduation and retention each term. A total of 43 student-athletes garnered Academic All-Big Ten status with nine deemed Big Ten Distinguished Scholars for a GPA of at least 3.7

Being involved in NCAA athletics for over three decades he has developed relationships with many coaches, administrators, and staff who are still involved with recruitment of student-athletes today.

Joe Litterio Academy is designed to help young student athletes and their parents navigate through the recruitment process from the help of someone who has been on the inside of the NCAA recruitment process.

Litterio and his wife, Michelle, reside in Wall, New Jersey, with their children – Frances, Mia and Joe. He earned his degree from Rutgers University in 1994.
